Sunday, May 7: 80-shot X-Course Match, starting at 9:00am, CDT

LOCATION: Fried Family Marksmanship Complex, 13839 262 St SE, Moffit, ND, 56580, Located 3 miles west of Moffit North Dakota (on Moffit Road), then 1.75 miles south on County Road 262 Street SE.

TIME OF SQUADDING Sat, May 6- Squadding from 11:00am to 11:45am. Firing begins at 12:00 Noon.

AND FIRING: Sun, May 7 - Squadding from 8:00am to 8:45am. Firing begins at 9:00.

RIFLE: 1000 Yard Matches: Saturday, May 6

Conventional Long Range - Any Rifle (Rule 32.), NRA Match Rifle (Rune 3.3), or the Service Rifle (Rule 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2)

F-Class Open Rifle - Any Rifle, Any Sight, Any Reasonable Support, such as sand bags, bipod. Caliber limited to .33 or smaller, rifle fired from shoulder; no "rail guns", so return to battery guns, no "lead sleds", no muzzle brakes. See the NRA web site for complete rules. The rifle’s weight cannot exceed 22 pounds. See the NRA web site for complete rules.

F-Class Target Rifle (FTR) – Rifle restricted to unmodified .308 or .223. The rifle must be fired off a bipod rigidly attached to the rifle’s forend. A rear bag is allowed. The rifle’s weight cannot exceed 18.18 pounds. See the NRA web site for complete rules.

80-Shot X-Course Match: Sunday, May 7

The NRA Match Rifle (Rule 3.3), or the Service Rifle (Rule 3.1, 3.1.1,3.1.2) with Metallic Sights (Rule 3.7a).

RULES: Current NRA rules will govern. During the 80-shot x-course match each relay will stay on the line and fire Match 2 immediately following firing match 1 before the next relay fires match 1.

CLASSIFICATION: The NRA Classification System will be used. Unclassified competitors will fire in the Master Class. Scores from a temporary score record book to establish classification are acceptable.

TARGETS: Military Type "LR" for 1,000 yards; and "SR" for 200 yards, "SR-3" for 300 yards, and "MR-1" for 600 yards.

OPEN BOLT INDICATORS: NRA High Power Rule 3.21 requires the mandatory use of Open Bolt indicators for all sanctioned tournaments. They are available from the range officer for $1.00.

SIGHTING SHOTS: Sighting shots (Rule 9.2) which are allowed in the match conditions must be taken and recorded. Sighting shots may be taken in any position described in Rule 5 of the High Power Rule Book, except Rule 9.13. Additional sighting shots for Rapid Fire Alibi Strings will not be allowed as they will be fired immediately and not on a special alibi relay.

CHALLENGES: The challenge fee shall be $1.00 per challenge.

AWARDS: Awards will be provided in each of the five classes provided 3 or more enter in a class. If fewer than 3 entries in a class, there will be no awards in that class and all competitors in that class will be combined with the next higher class until there are a minimum of 3 competitors in a class.

If there are not enough entries (3) in either F-Open or F-TR Category, they will be combined with the appropriate class in the other category.

Saturday, May 6, Beginning at 12:00 Noon CDT (approximately 1 hour after the Garand Match)

MATCH No. 1: 1,000 Yards - Prone: Unlimited sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a total time of 30 minutes using Any Rifle /Any Sights, NRA Match Rifle, Service Rifle or Palma Rifle. F-Class fired concurrently.

MATCH No. 2: 1,000 Yards - Prone: Unlimited sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a total time of 30 minutes using Any Rifle /Any Sights, NRA Match Rifle, Service Rifle or Palma Rifle. F-Class fired concurrently.

MATCH No. 3: 1,000 Yards - Prone: Unlimited sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a total time of 30 minutes using Any Rifle /Any Sights, NRA Match Rifle, Service Rifle or Palma Rifle. F-Class fired concurrently.

MATCH No. 4: An Aggregate of Matches 1, 2, and 3.

COURSE OF FIRE

Approved 80-Shot Across the Course Match

Sunday, May 7, Beginning at 9:00am CDT

MATCH No. 1: 200 Yards Standing - Two sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a total time limit of 22 minutes. Rule 5.12.

MATCH No. 2: 200 Yards Sitting or Kneeling - Two sighting shots. Twenty shots for record fired in two 10-shot strings, 60 seconds per string. Rule 5.8 or 5.9.

MATCH No 3: 300 Yards Prone - Two sighting shots. Twenty shots for record fired in two 10-shot strings, 70 seconds per string. Rule 5.6.

MATCH No. 4: 600 Yards Prone - Two sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a total time limit of 22 minutes. Rule 5.6.

MATCH No. 5: An Aggregate of Matches 1, 2, 3, and 4.

NOTES:

1.) Competitors remain on the line to shoot match 2 immediately after firing match 1.

2.) Alibis for matches 2 and 3 will be fired immediately; therefore no sighting shots for alibi runs unless there is an unusual delay.

RANGE FACILITIES: Camping is allowed on the range. (No open camp fires; charcoal grills, etc are OK.) We have rural water and a two hole comfort station. Make sure you contact Tom Thompson by Saturday, April 29, in order to provide access to the range, and have the club house open.

High Power Clinic - Friday, May 5, Johnson Family Marksmanship Center, 3667 Skyway, Bismarck

There will be a High Power clinic beginning at 6:30pm at the Johnson Family Marksmanship Center (4667 Skyway) in Bismarck for all High Power competitors. If you are, or are not familiar with High Power competition, you are encouraged to attend. There is no charge for the clinic. Contact Tom Thompson (255-4601) if you are interested in attending the clinic. We will discuss over-the-course matches, M1 Garand and/or Vintage Rifle events and Long Range events for conventional and F-Class shooting.

Description

The outdoor range features a 1,000 yard High Power rifle range with 34 firing points, rifle and handgun silhouette ranges, cowboy action area, an 18 point bullseye pistol range, 11 concrete benchrests with target backboards at 25, 50, 100, 200 and 300 yards, indoor storage, picnic shelter, outdoor restroom and a clubhouse/classroom facility.

Construction was made possible through grants from various groups that support shooting sports in our area and the hard work of our volunteer club laborers. We express our sincere thanks to these groups and invite them to visit the range and see what they have helped to build.
