OPEN TO: Both events are open to any Junior competitors. However, North Dakota Junior competitors must be a member of the North Dakota Shooting Sports Association in order to participate in the State Championship match. Membership applications will be available at the match.

RULES: Current NRA Smallbore Rifle Rules will govern.

ENTRY FEE: $15.00 PER COMPETITOR - SECTIONAL MATCH

$15.00 PER COMPETITOR - STATE CHAMPIONSHIP - ($30.00 FOR BOTH MATCHES)

$10.00 PER Team event

ENTRIES: Entries should be made at least 7 days preceding the firing date. Late entries may be accepted to the range capacity. Mail your entry with the correct fees to Thomas Thompson at the above address. Checks should be made payable to the Bismarck/Mandan R&P Association (BMRPA). Entries are limited to 48 competitors.

TEAM ENTRIES: Team entries must be made in person at the Statistical Office before any member of the team fires a shot. The team match is a paper match. Team fees are $10.00 per Team ($2.50 per shooter)

SQUADDING: Will be assigned by the Statistical Office on a first come first serve basis. Please state preferred time of firing. Teams are not required to be squadded together to fire as a unit. Additional relays for either the State or Sectional match will be scheduled only if necessary. If relays are not filled, the match director reserves the right to consolidate competitors in order to fill relays and shorten the time span of the match. All competitors will fire the state match first.

*NOTE: The Saturday 9"00AM, 3:00PM and the Sunday 1:00PM relays will only be opened if the other relays are filled.

RIFLE/SIGHTS: Rule 3.2, Any rifle - Rule 3.7(a), Metallic only

TARGETS Official NRA A-17. Targets may be hung at any height within our range limitations.

DISTANCE: Distance is 50 feet.

COURSE OF FIRE: The course of fire for the Sectional and the State match is 10 record shots in each of the following positions and in the following sequence - prone, standing, sitting and kneeling. The team matches are paper matches (scores fired in the individual matches are used for the team scores).

SIGHTING SHOTS: Unlimited sighting shots are permitted, but all shots fired, sighters and record, must be fired within the time allowed for record firing.

TIME LIMITS: Firing time is one minute per record shot in each position (prone, sitting and kneeling), and 1.5 minutes per shot standing. Each 10 shot string will be timed separately.

AWARDS: All awards will be provided by the NRA and the North Dakota Shooting Sports Association - one award per competitor.

OTHER NOTES: Eyewear is required at this range. Spotting scopes and mats will be available for competitors.

Description

The Johnson Family Marksmanship Center is the BMRPA’s indoor range. It is a 50 meter, 16 point, range. The range has been functional since January 2009 but there are still a number of areas that need more time and money. For example: some doors and finish work, range floor sealing, classroom equipment, etc.

The range is located at 4667 Skyway, Bismarck, ND, two blocks north and two blocks west of intersection of Hwy 1804 and 48 Ave. S (go south of the airport on U. Mary road).
